Choosing an Early Years Education Service

We have been given this information by Services for Young Children, we thought it may be helpful to parents and prospective parents:

How do parents and carers find out about childcare and early years education services in their area?
Choosing which childcare or early years education service is suitable for their child is an important decision for parents to make. Although it is easy for a parent to ask a family member, friend or neighbour about what is available in their area, to make an informed choice, parents should ideally have options. In Hampshire, parents can be supported in making these decisions by accessing the following:

Hampshire Family Information Directory:

Parents can search for suitable services using the online site. It is straightforward to use and provides information about Ofsted registered childcare and early years education services as well as children’s centres, parenting courses and other family related services.

Family Information Service:

Parents can seek help in looking for services by calling or emailing the Hampshire County Council contact centre. Centre advisors are trained to provide information for childcare and early years education, answer frequently asked questions (FAQs) and navigate the Family Information Directory for those who do not have IT access.

The service can be contacted on 0845 603 5620 or email
