About Us

We are a community based pre-school serving families from Yateley and surrounding areas. Yateley Community Pre-School (YCPS) is a registered charity. Alongside staff, our parents form part of our committee, meaning all our parents can get involved, whether that be within the exec committee, a member of our fundraising committee or just feeling included and being part of your child’s journey through pre-school. We are based in the grounds of Cranford Park Primary School, with our own building and large garden but also fortunate to have access to the school fields and hall too. We are a member of the Early Years Alliance and have been in operation for over 47 years having over 60 families on our books each year.

We work closely with other professionals to nurture and support your children, whilst taking extra care to support the whole family. We are approachable, flexible and will do everything in our power to make you and your child’s time with us a fun, memorable experience.

Keeping Healthy

We love keeping healthy and promoting healthy eating. We grow a whole range of fruit and vegetables in our pre-school garden. The children are involved from the planting of seeds to tasting the different delights on offer.

We utilise the school hall for music and movement, using the apparatus, practicing our exercises and lots of dancing, a fabulous way of keeping fit, building strength and having fun.

We always try to make the most of the school field too, with running races, Pirate treasure hunts, bringing literacy to life, bug hunts, obstacle courses and so much more!

  • Safeguarding

We have a ‘zero tolerance’ approach when it comes to safeguarding. We will listen, question, get to know our families, build strong relationships, make checks and do not assume anything. The health and safety of our children, families and staff will always be our top priority.

  • Our Staff

Experienced and committed staff who each bring a wealth of knowledge and special quality to form our team of 11. We consider ourselves a ‘pre-school family’ having worked alongside each other for many years.

  • School Dinners

Our link to Cranford Park Primary School means we are able to order healthy school dinners. School dinners are available for £3.40 each, ordered and payable on the day. View menu.

  • Support

We try to support our families in any way we can. We have a ‘closed’ parents Facebook group where parents and carers can see what their children are doing within pre-school.
